SAGRES, is located in extreme southwest of Europe, part of the Natural Park of Southwest Alentejo and Costa Vicentina, it's a traditional fishing village and is surrounded by magnificent cliffs. Fortaleza de Sagres, is a national monument. After entering a tunnel, you can see a circle of stones that are believed to be a wind rose. Sagres have some of the most impressive landscapes of the Algarve. The most influential figure in the history of Sagres was the Prince Henry, who was inspired to embark on their discovery voyages. The wild and rugged landscape of Sagres and the strength and attraction of the sea continue to delight visitors. The exposed beaches, such as Tonel, made Sagres the main attraction for surfers in Algarve, while the more sheltered beaches such as Mareta or Martinhal, are the best choice for families, as they continue to maintain its relaxed and natural environment. A Fortaleza de Sagres, situada num pequeno cabo de aproximadamente 1 km de comprimento é um monumento nacional. Após a entrada por um túnel, vê-se um círculo de pedras que se crê seja uma Rosa dos Ventos. Sagres exibe algumas das mais impressionantes paisagens do Algarve. A figura mais influente da história de Sagres foi o Infante D. Henrique, que aí se inspirou para embarcar nas suas viagens de descoberta. A paisagem selvagem e acidentada de Sagres e a força e atracção do mar continuam a encantar os visitantes. As praias expostas, como a do Tonel, ajudaram a transformar Sagres na capital do surf no Algarve, enquanto as praias mais abrigadas, como a Mareta ou o Martinhal, são favoritas entre as famílias, pois continuam a manter o seu ambiente natural e imaculado.
